100%. Private renting opens the door for entities not even in this country to be funneling out about 25% of thousands of peoples wages (for some even more) to take it out of our economy altogether

The government should reduce tax on house building, the government should not profit from house building until the crisis is averted , it is criminal that young people still have to live at home into their 30’s and 40’s or maybe forever because they cannot afford to live independently of their parents or end up with crazy mortgages that they are tied to and having a family is out of the question or extremely stressful because both parents have to work to pay their mortgage, young people are leaving Ireland to live in more affordable countries and we are bringing in foreign people and putting them up it is so ridiculous what are we like

The government should stop selling the public housing privately and it should be recirciculated into the housing system for another family that needs it.

The housing system in this country is a joke. People save to get a mortgage in a certain area and have to pay deposits, legal fees etc, but yet to be "fair and inclusive" the government have mandated that 10% of each estate is to be council housing. This is highly unfair to the people who work and save so hard to afford a home and have mortgages to see others just handed these homes. Council estates should be build and if someone would like to live in an area they can save like everyone else and move out of social housing

If affordable housing did come into affect, can It be guaranteed that residents of Ireland for more than 10 years be housed first. Also local younger people who are struggling to meet the terms and conditions of current mortgages.
