Abortion is a medical procedure resulting in the termination of a human pregnancy and death of a fetus. In 2013, the Oireachtas approved the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act which allows abortion to be performed on women whose lives are endangered during pregnancy. Proponents of abortion rights claim that since the 1970s more than 170,000 Irish women have left Ireland to have abortions and the ban is discriminatory towards women. Opponents of abortion argue that unborn fetus’s should be afforded the same rights as human beings.

A woman has a right to abortion if she has been sexually abused or if birth control failed, banning abortion will only create a massive problem of unwanted children
@9NPFWRL5mos5MO
Did the baby do anything to her by that means I have the right to drop kick a child across the country
A woman does not have a right to kill an unborn child no one has. By you're means I can drop kick a child across the country because I didn't want it
@9HSX74ZFianna Fáil10mos10MO
Pro-life, but allow them to abort if its rape incest or danger to mother or child and financially can’t be sustained
@9GPPGBH12mos12MO
Abortion should be allowed for instences were the child will have an impacted life due to deformations and certain illnesses which would make the life of the child harder
@9F64JMFIndependent1yr1Y
They should do whatever they want for the baby
@98V5BH52yrs2Y
Pro-Life but don't feel the right to tell others what to do or the government to do so.
@97YKM2H2yrs2Y
Pro-Life and then put child for adoption
@97YB2KJ2yrs2Y
Pro-choice, but I maintain it is technically the ending of a human life. People should have the right to take the moral decision for themselves of whether to end the, very premature, life of their unborn born, who will not know that their life was ended.
Pro-choice, and providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of abortions, but ban after the first 12 weeks. Too dangerous for the mother if full ban.
@9NPFWRL5mos5MO
Abortion is murder and should be treated as such with the same punishment as murder therefore we news to legalise the death penalty for murderers and women who got an abortion
@9MYWS965mos5MO
As pro-life as I can possibly be without requiring a legal ban. In other words I do not like abortion but can't bring myself to cast judgement on those who feel it necessary.
Pro-choice, but the government should not encourage or fund any abortions since a significant proportion of citizens/taxpayers have a moral objection to them
If child has no disabilities it must be illegal to got through abortion, if the child does have disabilities they are more than welcome to, a child can't be aborted due to gender
I categorically support abortions because if they are banned it can lead to death in certain cases. I have in mind that if the life of a pregnant woman is in danger because of the poor development of the fetus or some other health problem and if abortions are prohibited, it can be dangerous. Every woman should be able to decide for herself what to do with her body. I STRONGLY SUPPORT ABORTION.
@9JB2VW29mos9MO
i believe in a womens choice to her body, however, i dont agree with wanted pregnancy loss that requires medical termination, being treated the same as elective abortion
Pro-life, even for victims of rape and incest, and provide financial and social aid for mothers in need
@9HD2Q4V11mos11MO
Neutral. But also believe more in solutions to reduce teen pregnancy and pregnancy itself,but I leave that to experts
@9H6K7V611mos11MO
There is very severe circumstances where abortion is nessesary, but I believe people shouldn’t forget it’s still murder. Life is being taken away from another human. It shouldn’t be governments decision what people do with their body but I believe abortion should not be idolised or promoted and the harsh truth of how devastating they are needs to be recognised. Abortions are a last resort and that option should be there for a person who feels they have absolutely no other choice. It’s worth noting that a pregnancy interfering on university or career is not a valid reason to end a life. Absolutely everyone in Ireland has access to the cheapest and most effective form of contraception- condoms
Pro-Life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child
Providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of illegal abortions (including Irish going to foreign states),
Offer free vasectomies to all male 6th year & college students to lower unplanned pregnancies as well
(men make women pregnant)
Offer Long run contraceptives or fallopian tube tying to females in the same group.
And we should bring in safe access zones around hospitals and healthcare centers as women get harassment anyway
the patriarchy and sexism of modern society would still exist and need to be dealt with
@9462K452yrs2Y
Mostly Pro-Life and Rarely allow it
@96QHBLJ2yrs2Y
Pro-Life, however abortion should be allowed in the cases where the mother's life or health is at risk because of the baby, rape or incest.
@964N42J2yrs2Y
We don't need abortion We need to ban Gilmore Girls and Ginny and Georgia since they promote teenage pregnancy
At around 6 month, make it illegal
@95CMVB62yrs2Y
I neither agree nor disagree
@94R79Z3Independent2yrs2Y
Pro-life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, danger to the mother or child, or if the mother is a minor
@93TSBPP2yrs2Y
I'm Pro-life however I do think there should be a choice for a woman/family up to a certain number of weeks and also for other reasons such as in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child
@92V28YZ2yrs2Y
Only if the women's dying
@92FXL4M3yrs3Y
Pro-choice but ban during the last 3 months unless it's a threat to the mothers life
@8Z3K9683yrs3Y
It’s not good if it is in the first trimester then do it after that that’s just murder. If u don’t want a kid don’t have sex without a condom. But if u don’t want to keep it give it to adoption.
@8Z2BW5SSocial Democrats3yrs3Y
Pro-choice, only if was a rape, incest or danger to mother or child
@8YM3DLC3yrs3Y
pro choice. but the father should have just as much of a say as the mother
@8XNSQXL3yrs3Y
Abortion should be maid aleagal
Pro-Life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child

If it had the death penalty , the patriarchy and sexism of modern society would still be desperate women who think it is truly the only choice they have.
@8W2VXYR3yrs3Y
Abortion should not be frowned apon, people do not know what is going on in peoples lives it is complitly up to the women and people who have nothing to do with it should keep their opinons(good or bad|) to themselfs.
@8VYYT2Z3yrs3Y
Pro choice but ban after 3 months. Except in cases were the child will be still born, rape, incest or danger to the mother or child
@8VYL4JH3yrs3Y
i dont really care do what you want
@8VBGW7F3yrs3Y
Should be illegal after the first heartbeat
@8V9ZV4W3yrs3Y
Illegal unless they don’t have a heartbeat
@8V5V63L3yrs3Y
Pro choice as long as the baby doesn't have a heartbeat.
Pro-Life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child

Pro-choice for men, pro-life for women and intersex
Pro-Life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child & providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of illegal abortions (including Irish going to foreign states),

@8S8KVGK4yrs4Y
Pro Life but allow in extreme cases
@8RLNYM84yrs4Y
Pro-choice, and providing birth control, sex education, and more social services so that all have access to a real informed choice. (Also "pro-life" should be focused on that too, it is not pro life to criminalize and hurt or kill people that proceed to an abortion)
@8R38V9G4yrs4Y
This should be a medical decision, not political
@8QZTLBY4yrs4Y
Abortion is cool and I think it's cool bc it's not murder
@8QQ3Q7P4yrs4Y
Pro-Life after the 1st trimester
@8Q4P97Y4yrs4Y
Pro- choice, the life of the cold is never considered and frankly, terminating a child’s life because of the mistake or inaction of another person is wrong
@8PS2BZ54yrs4Y
Person should have a choice on what they do
