Absolutely. I think people should be given more education to the importance of this also. I find most people are very dismissive of just how much many companies that they've never even heard of have a large amount of information about them. This is not okay and I believe it should be prevented at all costs. In most cases even the times you really do need to give a few personal details, they always ask more than they really need to know, likely to sell the personal data
