In April 2021 the legislature of the U.S. State of Arkansas introduced a bill that prohibited doctors from providing gender-transition treatments to people under 18 years old. The bill would make it a felony for doctors to administer puberty blockers, hormones and gender-reaffirming surgery to anyone under the age of 18. Opponents of the bill argue that it is an assault on transgender rights and that transition treatments are a private matter that should be decided between parents, their children and doctors. Supporters of the bill argue that children are too young to make the decision to receive gender transition treatment and only adults over the age of 18 should be allowed to do so.

No it should be at least 25 to do so as only then do I believe a person is able to understand what decision there making
@9NDWY4Q6mos6MO
Yes, only after the age of 16, and after extensive psychological examination/treatment for any perceived emotional/psychological/physical trauma
@9MK59CQ6mos6MO
Yes, after the age of 16 and once they have completed psychological assessments to ensure they fully comprehend the nature of the risk

Yes but ensure that there is not an overidentification with the sex opposite the child's born-with sex that is rooted in trauma that can be healed or some other psychological issue etc as opposed to true transgenderism. Only allow in cases where the child shows consistent transgender nature, where proper psychological assessment shows that the child and their guardians understand the significance and long term implications of transitioning. make it a stepped process with multiple points for change of mind to be possible.

No, due to the legal issues with having children undergo transition treatments, especially in a situation where the individual might want it, but the parents do not, individuals should be legal adults before undergoing such treatment.
@9ZHBT4S1wk1W
yes, but only for non-surgical treatments and after being signed off by a counceller who has worked with the young person to confirm it is the right thing for them

Gender affirming care is life saving treatment but we need to better fund our mental health services to make sure we are properly supporting trans youth and identifying where their desire for care may be stemming from a separate issue. Case-by-case.

I think people under 18 years of age should be allowed access to hormone replacement treatment and puberty blockers but must be at least 18 to go through with surgeries.
