Should there be fewer or more restrictions on current social welfare benefits?

In 2011 the level of public spending on the welfare state by the British Government accounted for £113.1 billion, or 16% of government. By 2020 welfare spending will rise to 1/3rd of all spending making it the largest expense followed by housing benefit, council tax benefit, benefits to the unemployed, and benefits to people with low incomes.

There should be way more restrictions. Everyone who is able to work should be working. The poverty cycle will never end with the current generous welfare benefits. It is unfair to financially cripple people who are contributing to society by working and paying taxes in order to reward people who are able to work but choose not to

I believe the current system works relatively well to my understanding, which is not the best in all honesty.
However, it is too easy to create and find loopholes in the current system when searching for them.
In contrast the restrictions are unintentionally targeted to reject benefits for carers.
If a carer is not working as they are required to care for their child full-time, then they are not able to get their stamps which are needed for social benefits. If the child passes away, then the carer is left unfit for work due to strain after caring for years, and also without social benefit..

More restrictions and if a person can’t find a job or ANY kind within one year the social welfare benefits decrease and every 4 months after till it’s only €100 a week and if they get a job they have to be working a minimum of 1 year their before they’re entitled to benefits again - don’t allow them to get comfortable just enough to where they wanna keep their job and not doss

People who apply for social welfare benefits should be closer inspected to determine if they are eligible, also limits should be implemented depending on the individuals reason for needing benefits

More, make it a living wage, but provide it to everyone regardless of employment status. Universal basic income

All social welfare basic payments should be replaced by a Universal Basic Income with no strings attached, no Means Test, and freedom to supplement it with work / investments

The World Health Organization’s Dr. Hanna Nohynek testified in court that she advised her government that vaccine passports were not needed but was ignored, despite explaining that the COVID vaccines did not stop virus transmission and the passports gave a false sense of security. The stunning revelations came to light in a Helsinki courtroom where Finnish citizen Mika Vauhkala is suing after he was denied entry to a café for not having a vaccine passport.Dr. Nohynek is chief physician at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and serves as the WHO’s chair of Strategic Group of Experts on immunization. Testifying yesterday, she stated that the Finnish Institute for Health knew by the summer of 2021 that the COVID-19 vaccines did not stop virus transmissionDuring that same 2021 time period, the WHO said it was working to "create an international trusted framework" for safe travel while EU members states began rolling out COVID passports. The EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation passed in July 2021 and more than 2.3 billion certificates were later issued. Visitors to France were banned if they did not have a valid vaccine passport which citizens had to carry to buy food at stores or to use public transport.But Dr. Nohynek testified yesterday that her institute advised the Finnish government in late 2021 that COVID passports no longer made sense, yet certificates continued to be required. Finnish journalist Ike Novikoff reported the news yesterday after leaving the Helsinki courtroom where Dr. Nohynek spoke.

Claudia Sheinbaum Elected as Mexico’s First Female President

Claudia Sheinbaum, the former mayor of Mexico City, will become Mexico’s first female president after romping to victory in an election billed as a referendum on the leftist policies of departing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a vote that handed his party enough power in Congress to push through controversial constitutional changes.Sheinbaum, the candidate of the ruling Movement of National Regeneration, known as Morena, had 58.6% of the votes with 73% of the ballots counted, according to official results from Mexico’s election agency.Her closest rival, Xóchitl Gálvez, the candidate of a coalition of three opposition parties, had 28.4% of the vote and conceded defeat. Jorge Álvarez Máynez, from the center-left Citizen Movement, had 10.6%.Sheinbaum’s victory was bigger than expected and her margin of roughly 30 points would be the largest in a presidential vote since the 1982 election, when Mexico still was a single-party state. Pre-election polls had given her a 20-point lead.The vote reflected a resounding show of support for the government of López Obrador, a populist nationalist who won power in 2018 on an anticorruption platform. After taking office, he launched an austerity program for the federal government bureaucracy and redirected spending to welfare programs, especially cash handouts that included students and the elderly, keeping his approval ratings above 60%. López Obrador, who won with 53% of the vote in 2018, was barred by law from re-election.
