No, we should focus on re-opening our disused railway lines rather than on developing high-speed rail

Government should open currently closed rail stations providing more public transport
The green bus that goes from Kildare to Dublin City Center was reliable when it first got its contract but now is unreliable and operating at 1/3 rd of what it is supposed/ contracted to supply, it should be made to reapply yearly for its contract so that it will be encouraged to actually provide a reliable service

No, but the government should re-open old railway networks and branch lines to improve connectivity across the country

 @9ZG2CJ5answered…2mos2MO

This would be the last stage in my opinion. We need to zone in on bettering the transport system we already have before we make new plans. This is counterproductive and wastes time and money

Yes Irish transport system is in SHAMBLES and needs to be fixed ASAP with reasonable ticket prices - all across Europe they have a intricate and perfectly timed transport system at a low low cost and all citizens use public transport because it’s fast,efficient and cost effective compared to Ireland charging for expensive tickets and not even being able to arrive on time

High speed rail connections is not necessary but a standard of rail service in all 32 county’s could add massive prospects for commuters outside large city’s

 @9NPNKQKanswered…8mos8MO

Yes, but prioritise having trains connecting the cities that do not require change-overs regardless of highspeed or not.

 @9N4DKF4answered…8mos8MO

The government should be developing high-speed rail networks itself so that the network can remain within state ownership and nationalised and not within the hands of private investors.
