There‘s a higher likelihood of them getting the death penalty, and even in extreme cases I don’t believe the power of execution to be put on the state - even if rehabilitation isn’t an option. Additionally, in many of the systems it’s actually more expensive to give someone the death penalty than continue to jail them, and this comes out of taxpayers euros.
