Religion sets a great moral foundation for life. If you believe in nothing, you’ll believe in anything.

Our morality is guided by a number of things, like our evolutionary history which has enabled us to live in large social groups and also by the current social norms guided by logic, philosophy, science and cultural enlightenment.

This has replaced the need for religious morality.

A perfect example of this, is the fact that 'God' in the bible expressly allows slavery.

Even most religious people of course reject this now, which shows that our current 'religious morality' is just guided by the same things that I mentioned above.

I think as a Catholic country, Catholic schools should still teach Christianity and religion, but I do not believe that we should be controlled by religion always.

Religious education should be taught by explaining the principles of each faith, the history of the religion and what it entails. It should not be taught from a matter of fact perspective where children are told that it is the truth; it must be addressed as a possibility.

None it's has no educational value. It can be incorporated into history lessons

No involvement necessary, and schools should be secular, as religion leads to sectarian division.

I think it’s important for each nation to educate children and on the religion of their nation and less so on the religions of others. We all need God in our lives whether we know it or not

More of a role than lgbt activism currently has. Gender ideology is pushed in Irish education

All schools should be educate together schools, teaching children the beliefs of different faiths and not being told that one religion holds the correct beliefs.

Religion if needed to be taught in school should be non bias yet not enforced

 @9KG74LVSinn Féinanswered…9mos9MO

It's ok to have religious education, I don't even mind denominational schools, but failure to provide a holistic education, for any reason, is a grave injustice.

 @9KR4QL5Aontúanswered…9mos9MO

It should be a part of the curriculum but freedom of religion should be enforced

 @9KQGXTCanswered…9mos9MO

None - education should be secular to religion. Education is about facts, religion is not

 @9KD7H5FPBB Solidarityanswered…9mos9MO

None. Children should be taught about various religions but religious practice in schools shouldn’t be allowed. Schools should not be indoctrinations zones either. Secular is better, inform don’t practice.

 @9KCJNGDSocial Democratsanswered…9mos9MO

None. It should not influence teaching but we should at least learn about them.
