I don't think animals would atleast most of the time have the Same affects from us, let alone the fact the animal could be anything but a mammal

 @9ZWDBC5answered…5mos5MO

Yes, under controlled, limited and humane circumstances, and where alternatives have been exhausted. All use of animals in testing that would be considered in any way cruel should be banned.

 @9ZW7VF2Sinn Féinanswered…5mos5MO

Yes but they should minimise suffering as much as possible and use alternative routers where possible

 @9ZVBC5Ranswered…5mos5MO

More in vitro methods should be used when possible instead of in vivo and more funding for new research and development of anti-animal testing in vitro methods

 @9ZR5NLDanswered…5mos5MO

Yes as long as it is properly regulated to avoid the mistreatment of said animals. Realistically it is better to test stuff out on animals before humans as long as it is done in the most humane way possible. There should be heavy penalties/charges for inhumane treatment of the animals

 @9YNGCR9answered…6mos6MO

Absolutely not! Animal abuse how about human testing aswell considering the products are for us to use maybe companies will stop selling bad quality products!

 @9ZHHRQCGreenanswered…6mos6MO

Yes, provided there are government rules regulating how this research can be carried out, along with government oversight to ensure that these rules are being abided by.

 @9ZCTZV6answered…6mos6MO

Yes but not for cosmetic and it should be reuglated that it is only allowed if there are no other options, and it has been tested and passed certain tests beforehand.

 @9Z9GW9Panswered…6mos6MO

No, as unfortunately the effects of drug testing on animals can be more easily maintained and be of less risk than testing first on humans, but incentivise researchers to utilise other means of drugs testing as well as allowing human participants to sign up, also increase monitoring on researchers testing on animals and ban the use of animal testing for cosmetics.

 @9Z9B9Y4answered…6mos6MO

Test on humans instead - it’s human products nothing to do with any other species so test it on them people who volunteer for a certain price or prison cell inmates who are there for large offences

 @9ZM9B9QSinn Féinanswered…6mos6MO

i do not personally agree with animal use in testing but i think it is vital / important for medical advancement until something else comes along that is more animal friendly

 @9ZM33B3answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but only in limited circumstances with strict regulation and ethical guidelines, reducing harm where possible

 @9DCQ9BJGreenanswered…2yrs2Y

No, use criminals for testing of products instead. Only animal products such as animal medicine are to be tested on animals.

 @9SHFD2Ganswered…8mos8MO

Only for medicines that could save the lives of a number of humans eg cancer medication, heart medication

 @9NCKLV5answered…11mos11MO

No overall but currently it is necessary for medical purposes. We should invest more into computational approaches.

 @9L2VDWVGreenanswered…1yr1Y

With cosmetics yes, but with vaccines I'm not entirely sure, though that prolly stems from my specieism

 @8T24J2Nanswered…4yrs4Y

No, animals should not be used for testing. Instead criminals should be used for testing.

 @8DQ9ZDZanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes but only for medical reasons and publicly fund research into alternatives to animal testing (e.g. stem cell testing)

 @99CLNDFanswered…2yrs2Y

No, by this stage a method should be developed to test these without using living beings.

Yes, if ethically approved and proper protective procedures and cautions are taken for the animals

 @98K9Q5Kanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but testing should not cause suffering to the animals, should be sustainable and should be of long-term benefit to the animals.

 @94739L6answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only for medical reasons and only when there is no other alternative

What are your thoughts on the balance between human health benefits and the welfare of animals in medical research?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Have you or someone you know ever benefited from a medical treatment developed through animal testing?
