Yes, and secondary schools should be obligated to provide classes teaching students about the government and political processes.

 @B33XX4Yanswered…4mos4MO

To citizens 16 and older that can show a confirmation slip that they have/are working and paying taxes

 @9ZZDH7Lanswered…6mos6MO

You should be able to vote at any age as long as you complete an accurate IQ test and the results dictate if you can vote

 @9ZWDF93People Before Profitanswered…6mos6MO

Yes and everyone should be required to pass a basic text demonstration their understanding of politics in order to vote

 @9ZW5M9Danswered…6mos6MO

no the minimum age should be lowered but perhaps there should be a maximum age implemented as decisions impact younger generations on a greater scale than those in their 80's/90's

 @9ZV97RNanswered…7mos7MO

12-18 year olds should have the option to cast a vote and have their voice but it should not carry the same weight as an adult vote

 @9YNGCR9answered…7mos7MO

No it should not be lowered as men/boys intellectually are behind woman/girls, way too young to vote on such serious matter.

 @9YNC9G4answered…7mos7MO

Voting age should be from 18 up as 16 is to low as there at a stage we’re thee only starting to understand, a say on there options can be valid yes if they know what there going to vote for yes and if it was brought init the education and talked about each parties then maybe it could drop to 16

 @9ZBQLN5answered…7mos7MO

Any citizen that pays taxes should be able to vote if they have completed a short exam proving their knowledge of the government and the country

 @9Z9Z9TPanswered…7mos7MO

I believe people from the age of 16 should be allowed to vote on certain topics as they would still be directly impacted buglt at least would have a say

 @9YMYRPTanswered…7mos7MO

Get the average age a person lives till in ireland and cap it at that. If they live past that age well done, but theyll probs die soon. They shouldnt get a say in our future when theyll be gone soon and so many younge children who cannot vote yet have to live w the consequences

 @9YM5GHJanswered…7mos7MO

Yes and every five years once you reach 50 mandatory test to make sure you still understand basic politics

 @9YLQ37QFine Gaelanswered…7mos7MO

It should stay the same but there should be a cap on how old someone can vote. Anyone over 85 doesn’t vote for the future other than their own

 @9YKRCVPanswered…7mos7MO

Yes but it should be taught in school or some mandatory course to be taken if they are under the age of18 and voting

 @9MLWPF5Greenanswered…1yr1Y

the current age is fine but politics should be discussed more so they have an understanding of the issues and the impact on lives.

 @9ZNP6HTSocial Democrats answered…7mos7MO

Yes, people who pay taxes should have opportunity to vote, but also voting should not be permitted for people who do not care about the votes and merely spin a wheel, otherwise you end up like america

 @9ZJLSNPanswered…7mos7MO

the voting age should only be lowered if politics and society becomes a mandatory subject for all secondary school students and anyone not in secondary school should be offered workshops explaining the political system and political history of this country

 @9ZB77BHanswered…7mos7MO

I think there shouldn’t be an age limit but perhaps a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics to vote.

 @9ZPHQT5answered…7mos7MO

Yes, and all voters regardless of age should have to pass a test to prove their understanding of local issues, their knowledge of political parties, and to prove they are in the right mind to make such a decision.

 @9L5M92Hanswered…1yr1Y

The age should only be lowered to seventeen as anyone younger then that has not matured enough to vote yet

 @9ZQYF74Social Democrats answered…7mos7MO

No, and there should be small tests added to the ballot to prove a person understands the basics a party is offrring.

 @9R6ZYBNanswered…11mos11MO

I believe in circumstances where over 16s can demonstrate legitamate political interest and involment, there should be a special allowance to vote.

 @9NPJXK4answered…1yr1Y

Yes, along with improved and mandatory teaching in school on politics/electoral systems etc... from a young age

 @9KZKTD3answered…1yr1Y

Yes, any citizen that pays taxes and has a legal job and is over the age of 16 should be allowed to vote

 @9YLZ3BNanswered…7mos7MO

i think voting should be based off IQ and property holdings. If your below a certain IQ you shouldn’t be allowed make decisions that affect the whole country but if you have property and are below the IQ should still be able to vote as the laws will affect your holdings of land

 @8DQ9ZDZanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes it should be lowered to 15 and political and legal education should be introduced in schools

 @9BCVQR9answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but voters who are between the age of 16 to 21 should have to pass a test demonstarting basic knowledge of irish politics

 @8RRCGFKanswered…4yrs4Y

No, raise it to either 21 or abolish it and only allow tax payers the right to vote.

 @97PZ24Hanswered…3yrs3Y

No but politics should be a mandatory course studied in secondary school.

 @AdamjnrGreenanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, to 16 but only for local elections and voters should be required to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics in order to vote.

 @8W686NVSocial Democratsanswered…4yrs4Y

 @8RLNYM8answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, anyone should be able to decide for their lives. Make sure to increase education budgets so everybody is able to have an informed choice

 @8QZTLBYanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes,10 and over should be able to vote cause we are smarter than adults

 @96QQFLSanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but they should be asked minimum questions on basic understanding of what they are voting for

 @93TSBPPanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, I think younger people are more in tune with the way our country is run than ever before. I would also like there to be stricter rules around misinformation during election campaigns, maybe an independent fact checking body to verify all major claims being made during elections.

 @8YZKJL6answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Y69KTVanswered…3yrs3Y

I believe that it has less to do with age and more to do with ones understanding of politics

 @8SCYZLRanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but voters of any age registering should be required to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics.

 @8QK64YZSocial Democratsanswered…4yrs4Y

Only on Constitutional referendums should the voting age be lowered to 16.
