Very much so. The public of our country is being heavily taxed without any good reason, beyond 'fear that foreign investments will withdraw'. This is a very weak argument, and is nothing more than fear mongering by those in power to insist on continuing the status quo. In early days of our independence, foreign investment was important, but largely just because there were not many people provided with solid political learning in the country at the beginning. Nowadays, many people have a better sense of these things, and the people in general are on average much more knowledgeable and educated anyway. We needed the foreign investment to encourage the public to take an interest in these fields. Now the interest is present, so we don't need outside help to continue this trend
