The Israeli Kan Broadcasting Corporation revealed on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled a trip he had scheduled to the Czech Republic and Hungary, en route to the United States for a speech before Congress, fearing his arrest amid a potential decision for an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). According to reports, Netanyahu had contemplated visiting both countries before landing in the United States due to the unavailability of a direct flight across the Atlantic Ocean. However, instead of taking a ground stop at either airport, Netanyahu will be traveling on a public airliner heading to Washington directly. The ICC’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, was seeking arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Security Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity, as well as Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and Mohammad Deif, prompting fierce responses from "Israel" and its allies.
India and Russia are ditching the US dollar in their trade relationship. BRICS members are putting their national payment systems, RuPay and MIR, to work. This will reportedly make cross-border transactions smoother between them.Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India met with Russian officials in Moscow. They discussed integrating RuPay and MIR for trade.Modi confirmed India’s openness to using these systems for transactions with Russia, after rejecting the idea of de-dollarization before. Though he did say it was China’s yuan he wasn’t cool with using. This decision will benefit both India and Russia. They will use their local currencies, saving millions in exchange rates. Andrey Kostin, CEO of Russia’s VTB Bank, spoke about this during a press conference.“We must develop our own settlement system that includes the global south enabling us to conduct transactions in our own national currencies and not the US dollar.”
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on 10 July urged his NATO partners to show the same “unity and consistency” when it comes to Gaza as they have demonstrated toward Ukraine.“If we tell our citizens that we support Ukraine because we defend international law, it is the same thing we have to do with Gaza,” Sanchez said during NATO’s 75th anniversary summit held in Washington.“We cannot be accused of applying double standards that would weaken our support for Ukraine. On the contrary, we demand the same unity and consistency for Gaza as we do in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” the premier added. He also stressed the need “to create the conditions for an immediate and urgent ceasefire” for Gaza, adding that “there is a real risk of escalation to Lebanon.”Since the start of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza last October, western governments and corporate media have been repeatedly accused of double standards in fully supporting the Israeli offensive while condemning Russia’s alleged atrocities in Ukraine.

Donald Trump is considering a reduction in intelligence sharing with members of NATO, which depends on the U.S. for the type of information that has helped Ukraine fend off Russia, according to foreign officials informed of the plans.Trump advisers have told allied countries the reduced intel sharing would be part of a broader plan to scale back U.S. support and cooperation with the 32-nation alliance, according to three European officials and a senior NATO official, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal discussions. The officials said they learned about the proposal to curb intelligence-sharing during discussions with Trump advisers about broader plans to reduce U.S. involvement with NATO. The former president repeatedly questioned and sought to undercut the alliance during his first term in office. The curtailment of intel could have dire security consequences, especially for Ukraine as it tries to repel the Russian invasion.“It’s the American intelligence that helped convince a lot of NATO countries that Putin was resolved to invade Ukraine,” one European official said. “Some countries didn’t believe Russia had the capabilities to carry out a successful military campaign.”
