Marijuana should be legalized, and could be taxed and regulated, it should absolutely be decriminalised. I strongly believe that those who were imprisoned for drug offenses should be immediately released in addition to the legalization of marijuana.

If cigarettes are allowed, and even kill but are still sold, natural , regulated tested cannabis should be legalised, but not sold by random dealers, taxed, and owned by government

 @B2GVP7Sanswered…6mos6MO

Yes, but a lot of consultation would be required and only for medical use in exceptional cases (for example cancer patients or multiple sclerosis)

 @9ZVHMPYanswered…8mos8MO

I think legalize it but put out the true information about the benefits but also about the dangers and let people make their own choice on it

 @9ZTZ4P5answered…8mos8MO

Yes but only for medicinal use when it’s proven to benefit eg. Mental illness , but have strict policies on it

 @9ZTP726answered…8mos8MO

Cannabis will always find a way, there will always be users and it would be more beneficial to the public to have this regulated. Studies across the world has shown how much more danger is brought in the illegal market, young people disadvantaged or not are being taken advantage of by gangs and older adults, criminalised and often given records that affect the ability to find work. These people should be given help and resources to do better rather than criminalised at such young ages which is known to start a cycle. Neither should anyone be criminalised for addiction. The current system is feeding what it is trying to fight.

 @9ZT4LML answered…8mos8MO

Maybe, pending more research into the public affects of it. Any non-violont drug offenders should be released or have their cases reviewed.

 @9ZM3M6DSocial Democratsanswered…8mos8MO

a mixture of both: yes, and immediately release anyone serving time solely for drug offenders & legalise, tax and regulate marijuana

 @9ZF7M5Hfrom British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

Should have a 2 year trial. If adverse effects occur continue to criminalise. However legalisation would create huge capital through sales tax tourism and could see current addiction levels from hard class A drugs drop

 @9ZCHNJLanswered…9mos9MO

It should be legalised for health and medical benefits but also for people over a certain age due to the long term effects from people who smoke at an early age due to brain development.

 @9YLL862answered…9mos9MO

I don’t believe that it should be criminalised but I don’t think it’s the most harmful drug there is. I don’t think it should be made avaliable in your local shop but I don’t think there should be a ban on it and penalties for being caught with it.

 @9ZQPM92answered…8mos8MO

Decriminalise possesion but not to be sold in general retail stores, increase funding for rehab and prevention, support and treatment for those affected by drug related mental health issues

 @9ZPFJPTAontúanswered…8mos8MO

Don't legalise it yet. Just decriminalise it first. Legalising it and attempting to tax it will be a disaster like many other countries.

 @9ZMG2XZIndependentanswered…8mos8MO

Put resources into enforcement of current laws. More garda, more prison places, judges willing to clean up society

 Deletedanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but mainly for medical use. Decriminalise it and provide harm reduction safeguards and education for everyone as well as addition treatment for anyone dealing with addition

 @9ZRY6KKanswered…8mos8MO

If it was to become legal, there should be designated shops for it to be sold and designated areas for use. There should be a max amount a person can purchase/carry at a given time.

 @9NNFW3Qanswered…1yr1Y

Depending on a case to case basis. If someone uses it for pain relief for example that should be allowed

 @9NSBV4Sanswered…1yr1Y

No, Marijuana should only be legalized for medical use subject to a prescription from a general practitioner

 @8V5VN9Yanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, immediately release anyone serving time solely for drug offenses, as well as legalise, tax, and regulate marijuana instead of criminalizing it.

 @8RP2FN4answered…4yrs4Y

Build rehabilitation services in Ireland and only arrest people for selling drugs

 @8RLNWTKanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes but I think there should be an age limit for users similar to alcohol, I think it should be illegal to use marijuana under the age of 25 or 18.

 @8JMRW49answered…5yrs5Y

I think they should legalise the use of marijuana to make it controlled and safer

 @8J7R76Sanswered…5yrs5Y

Treat drug use as a public health issue and focus on rehabilitation rather then incarceration

 @8DQ9ZDZanswered…5yrs5Y

legalize marijuana and decriminalize all drug use. fund public research into legalization of other drugs

 @9CJFPM4Fine Gaelanswered…2yrs2Y

 @97Y9GGRanswered…3yrs3Y

Have it available only in a private businesses premises, only smoke it there (like a pub with alcohol) and strictly only over 25's)

 @93DVBCWanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only medicinally, release anyone serving time solely time for drug uses alone.

 @AdamjnrGreenanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but we should offer livestock farmers growing rights first in exchange for reducing the national herd, tax and regulate also (tariff same as cigarettes)

 @8XSVGX7Social Democratsanswered…4yrs4Y

No, major efforts should be made to reduce the public's reliance on drugs and alcohol across the board instead of normalising more of it. Marijuana is still an addictive, mind altering substance and can still cause harm.

 @AdamjnrGreenanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but we should offer livestock farmers growing rights first in exchange for reducing the national herd ,tax and regulate also (tariff same as cigarettes)
