Yes

Diversity training curricula are not inherently factual, rather based on specific viewpoints/ideologies. They should therefore not be enforced onto anybody

Prejudice or discrimination can make someone experience trauma or fear in a country that should be accepting to all communities

Because its not a real science or logical discussion. Its nonsense which reduces freedom of speech and free thinking which we need for real problem solving. Its based on identity politics and causes division in groups making one out to be the criminal and the other the victim.

No

Dude, who the **** has the time to research all that? its common sense- have you seen the state of america? it sows seeds of conflict. Convince me otherwise with stats and data, I'm not doing your job for you.

Yes, and all schools should require mandatory diversity training

 @9ZS3KXGdisagreed…3mos3MO

Diversity training should not be mandatory. There is enough diversity in our country as is, there should be more emphasis on learning about our own culture and history

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

Yes, and immediately terminate any staff member that displays racist behavior

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

No, only for students that display racist behavior

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

No, and mandatory diversity training should be banned

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

No, diversity training should be encouraged but not required

 @9ZVMLRXLabourdisagreed…3mos3MO

By ensuring training is compulsory we create a minimum standard of diversity awareness in teaching staff. This has massive impact on society over time due to the influence teachers have on children.

Diversity training is important for empathetic and understanding teaching and creating a supportive and fruitful environment

A child has a right regardless of who they are to feel understood and respected in an academic environment. This trumps the feelings or time of an adult of free will deciding to work in the education sector. Adults in this environment set the tone to how this child is treated. A child who feels accepted is more inclined to accept the new country or majority groups culture and beliefs. Hence, assimilating with a lesser chance of committing crime/working/ paying taxes and improving the home country and promoting/embracing in their own way the culture of their new home. LGBT people exist regardless of environment. Feeling welcome will mean better mental health and less strain on the mental health system.

Ireland should welcome people from different ethnic backgrounds and that should be supported by the teachers in the country.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

No, only for teachers or faculty members that display racist behavior

 @9RTH5DFfrom Ontario  disagreed…7mos7MO

That’s understandable but to save anyone having to experience prejudice or discrimination in school it would be better to make it a requirement.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...2yrs2Y

No, only private schools should be allowed to require mandatory training

 @9ZDW5P9answered…4mos4MO

No only if it’s reported by a student or other teacher that they are being discriminating then they should be put back into training

 @9YMZDFRanswered…4mos4MO

Yes, but this subject needs to be dealt with in a better manner as it is now almost extreme that the children who do not go by a label eg cat/dog or choosing a different gender based on how they feel that day are the minority and being ostricised

 @9ZLZLY9Sinn Féinanswered…4mos4MO

Yes and no I don’t think children should decide what gender they are till their old enough and our Irish culture should be taught more

 @9ZBC6H4answered…4mos4MO

Irish culture should be a priority in Irish schools, any other race who deems it offensive can choose a more diverse school which there are. in many countries their cultures, race and ethnicity are deemed the best but in Ireland its all "racist". like schools putting up cribs for Christmas... looking for non existent issues

 @9H7CKHYSocial Democratsanswered…1yr1Y

No, any good teacher treats their students equally irrespective of race, gender or religious background

 @9ZBWL2L answered…4mos4MO

Yes, and I strongly believe there should be more people looking at teachers and what they are doing day to day. I've worked in schools and it's ridiculous how little they are called out for repercussions. No other job has less checking in. You could be doing f* all and no one every checks in
