When was a time you saw someone give up their privilege for the benefit of others, and how did that impact you?

 @9LD3FQZIndependent Leftanswered…8mos8MO

I have been brought up as a Quaker and throughout my life have been around people who choose to work in sectors which benefit those in need, or to do what they believe is right despite the consequences. I have recently met a South African Quaker who was jailed and in solitary confinement for protesting the Apartheid regime, and she was (and continues to be) an inspiration.
