Since 1999, the executions of drug smugglers have become more common in Indonesia, Iran, China and Pakistan. In March 2018, U.S. President Donald Trump proposed executing drug traffickers to fight his country’s opioid epidemic. 32 countries impose the death penalty for drug smuggling. Seven of these countries (China, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore) routinely execute drug offenders. Asia and the Middle East’s tough approach contrasts with many Western countries who have legalized cannabis in recent years (selling cannabis in Saudi Arabia is punished by beheading).

No, the death penalty should only be allowed in extreme situations e.g. brutal murder, rape, pedophilia etc. Beyond these (which I deem to be objectively immoral within the Irish society) why should the government get to decide who is allowed to live and who is not?
No send them to prison for a length of time regarding how many drugs they sold and whether they sold drugs to under aged people
@9RVB6MG7mos7MO
All drugs should be decriminalised and more money put into education and training to allow people to stop addiction. Only drugs that have proven to be extremely dangerous should be monitored and controlled.
@9MGNRW29mos9MO
We are far too preoccupied with punishment when the focus of these problems should be preventing them in the first place
@93FJZV73yrs3Y
No, but they should receive heavy sentences if connected to cartel violence
@8YM3DLC3yrs3Y
No. They should be made to join the military.
@8YLXLQPSocial Democrats3yrs3Y
We need to see a policy on this
@8XFLST73yrs3Y
drug traffickers should be deported back to their own country & let their country deal with those drug traffickers
@8VMB94N3yrs3Y
They deserve death but I don’t support the death penalty because of all the innocent people killed.
@8VBGW7F3yrs3Y
They deserve death but I don’t support the death penalty because of innocence people getting exercised.
No, I do not believe in the death penalty and I doubt it would work as a large deterrent anyway.
@8RPKKGQ4yrs4Y
No, they are victims of a larger issue.
@8PT57XP4yrs4Y
No, but they should spend the rest of their lives in prison and never released. Life should mean life.
@8JMRWVP4yrs4Y
they should receive a penalty, but not death.
@8J2LNT24yrs4Y
we don't have law but we to need to legistate for drug use & the death penalty
@8H4GD784yrs4Y
the death penalty as a last resort a prison sentence would be better with a fair trial
@8DQ9ZDZ4yrs4Y
No, and they shouldn't go to prison. They should be given job training
@8CWNV9J4yrs4Y
Maybe, but only for repeat offenders who have dealt with very large amounts given a fair trial. Examples need to be created
@8C5RDBV4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they are repeat offenders and the amount trafficked is substantial enough.
@9CT7MQQ2yrs2Y
No, the war on drugs is a failure and needs to be abolished
@98JC92W2yrs2Y
Yes if it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are guilty
@97YG7FL2yrs2Y
No but given a minimum sentence of 10years
@97Y8C722yrs2Y
Depending on the class of drug they are dealing
@93S334Y3yrs3Y
not a death penalty but a long time in prison
@RobboMojo4yrs4Y
No, I don’t believe in the death penalty. They should instead have life in prison. It is arguably a harsher punishment but is still more humane then killing them.

no i think as soon as the drugs have left the hands of the drug traffickers then its up to the other person what they do so i dont think death penalty is the right option
