Proponents argue that this strategy would bolster national security by minimizing the risk of potential terrorists entering the country. Enhanced screening processes, once implemented, would provide a more thorough assessment of applicants, reducing the likelihood of malicious actors gaining entry. Critics argue that such a policy might inadvertently promote discrimination by broadly categorizing individuals based on their nation of origin rather than specific, credible threat intelligence. It may strain diplomatic relations with the affected countries and potentially harm the perception of the nation enacting the ban, being seen as hostile or prejudiced towards certain international communities. Additionally, genuine refugees fleeing terrorism or persecution in their home countries might be unjustly denied safe haven.

Everyone entering this country should be checked to see if they are or aren’t a threat
@9FGWW681yr1Y
No, but anyone that shows up with no passport on a plane should be shifted back as they are clearly hiding their identity
No one from any country should be banned, however I think there should be more background research done on people who are coming to live in Ireland
How long people have to wait to get tested
Depending on how long gov improvement takes
@9DJN5DL1yr1Y
Controlled migration simples
No banning, but any Muslim coming from a high risk area should be monitored for a set period or until an accurate summery of their background can be researched
@9BQ3Q3V2yrs2Y
immigration should be more regulated, but not regard long religion or region, more on said individuals past convictions/warnings
@9BNDXGB2yrs2Y
should be screened well but not banned
@96QHBLJ2yrs2Y
Not just Muslims, try to keep Ireland as Irish as possible as we can.
@96J7B9Z2yrs2Y
Yes but not only muslims, all should go through a screening process
@95SQLZX2yrs2Y
No, ban immigrants who have been convicted of serious crimes such as sexual assault.
@95FVQ9T2yrs2Y
Have background checks but allow people t enter
@9595WN32yrs2Y
I dont think they should be be banned but i think they should be careful about who they let in.
@9469Z5R2yrs2Y
No, but there should be prior background checks.
@93Z7M622yrs2Y
No, but still improve ability to screen out potential terrorists
there should be background checks and high monitoring on immigrants but if they are innocent they should be allowed to live in society
@8YBLYY73yrs3Y
Background checks should be done instead of just banning them
@8XVSHYY3yrs3Y
Anybody wishing to immigrate to Ireland should be subject to screening and rigorous background checks.
@8XNSRBK3yrs3Y
No as that is a racist idea and stereotyping a mass amount of people due to the actions of few.
@8WGWYFH3yrs3Y
@8W7FVT23yrs3Y
before entering the country muslim's from high risk places should be held up and checked to make sure it is safe to allow them in the country
@8W5CT3L3yrs3Y
i don’t rlly understand the question
@8VDK4553yrs3Y
Not unless, we are at higher risk for terrorist attacks
@8TD4F833yrs3Y
No unless there’s any proven tie to terrorist groups
@8TC3GSR3yrs3Y
No, but we should increase security and ban and deport those affiliated with terrorist governments.
@8SW95FT4yrs4Y
Do a background check on them.
@8SW57DK4yrs4Y
I don't think there is much threat currently, but we should implement screening
@8SPX4Q7Social Democrats4yrs4Y
Immigrants should be held in a secure area until the screening is complete
@8S4TF894yrs4Y
They should have a background check to see if they are in a terrorist group
@8RZXYWRSocial Democrats4yrs4Y
No but they should be monitored heavily to make sure they have no terrorist ties
@8R9QSFF4yrs4Y
No, But we should ban it from certain areas until we find out what is happening there.
@8R9P3234yrs4Y
Shouldn’t ban them but screen them
@8QZ37WL4yrs4Y
Put them in a holding area until security checks are complete.
@8PZVY464yrs4Y
No but those linked to terrorism shouldnt be allowed
Put them into homes until the government go through their background
Screening should be improved but no to banning based on religion
@8CJ6LV94yrs4Y
They should do a background check on all immigrants entering the country
@9D2L2SY1yr1Y
No, but we should run background checks on all immigrants
@9CKC4H51yr1Y
only if they have no passport
@9C2Y3WL2yrs2Y
Ban most immigration to protect our culture
@9BZH9B62yrs2Y
No, however there should be an improved screening process upon entry.
@9BJ58MV2yrs2Y
All immigrants should have a screening process done if they are wanting to relocate and live in Ireland for the future. Regardless of religion race age etc.
@99ZXC8V2yrs2Y
@99V72GY2yrs2Y
Banning a immigrants is decreasing which the provider thru more parts of the country when constitute can given New Zealand and HAMILTON EAST never a request by the hussel. And ban the bank account in the mean time check play list teams
The screening should be heavily in increased
@99NRNLN2yrs2Y
I don’t know enough about this
@99M2WSL2yrs2Y
No immigration for bigots
@99LRV3P2yrs2Y
All immigrants from all background should be screened and vetted
@98HQVS82yrs2Y
Muslims are no more of a "threat" than others, so no
@98DWMMM2yrs2Y
No, but they should be screened. The screening should be as intensive as the risk is concerning their country at that time.
@98C2F3S2yrs2Y
It depends on the circumstance because they have to ensure we are safe but cant completely discriminate against muslims.
All migrants should be vetted
@97YG7FL2yrs2Y
No, but have a high tech screening system
@97Y9WCH2yrs2Y
This question is loaded and racist. There may be the same level of terrorists in any religion
@97Y8YHQ2yrs2Y
Should immigrants be banned from from entering the country until the government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists regardless if muslim or of other faith.
@97PZ24H2yrs2Y
No they definitely shouldn’t be banned but I think there should be rigorous tests and I think that should be done for all immigrants and refugees. I think multiculturalism is a positive for our country but we shouldn’t let just anyone in.
@978QXVS2yrs2Y
I think that if someone shows extremist religious beliefs that could indicate terrorist behaviour they probably shouldn't be allowed in but I don't think this should be specific to Islamic extremists since other forms of extremism pose the same risks. I also see no issues with non extremist Muslims immigrating to Ireland.
@96R8M6Z2yrs2Y
No, but the checks should be thorough
@9342NP93yrs3Y
No, but the government needs to do more background checks to ensure that extremists are not coming into the country.
No, US Jews and Israelis should be until 1948 borders are honored and enforced.
@8RFJ6FZ4yrs4Y
We dont get much attacks but we have so much homeless why should we take them in
@8Q5XJ224yrs4Y
Yes, screening for all religions and people should be implemented
@8Q55D5J4yrs4Y
Don’t ban all but a quick background check which puts people into low-high risk categories. Only low risk allowed in
@8DG6RF44yrs4Y
No, but a background check should be conducted of all immigrants coming into the country.
@93JPSKN2yrs2Y
no opinion on this topic
@8XVCDFY3yrs3Y
only ban people from immigrating if there is proof of terrorist ties
@8ZLWPRC3yrs3Y
screen everyone as its not just muslims that may be potential terrorists.
@93JPYHY2yrs2Y
@8PGZTFZ4yrs4Y
No, but anyone wanting to move into the country should pass a background check
