Ukrainian authorities, with support from French police and Europol, have arrested the suspected administrator of XSS.is, one of the largest and most notorious Russian-language cybercrime forums.
The forum, which boasted over 50,000 registered users, served as a key marketplace for stolen data, hacking tools, and illicit services. The arrest follows a four-year international investigation, during which authorities wiretapped servers and uncovered evidence of cybercrime and ransomware activities generating at least $7 million in profits. The operation marks a significant blow to the Russian-speaking cybercriminal underground.
Officials have not released the suspect's name, but the takedown is seen as a major victory for international law enforcement cooperation.
