The UK, Germany, and over 50 allied nations have launched a coordinated 50-day campaign to rapidly increase military aid to Ukraine, following a new ultimatum from US President Donald Trump that gives Russia 50 days to end its invasion or face harsher consequences.
The initiative, discussed at the latest Ramstein Contact Group meeting, focuses on delivering air defense systems, artillery shells, and advanced weaponry, including Patriot missiles and 220,000 Gepard shells. The UK has pledged £700 million in new aid and is considering joining Germany in purchasing US-made arms for Ukraine. The campaign aims to strengthen Ukraine's position on the battlefield and pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin into negotiations.
NATO leaders describe this as a 'moment of maximum opportunity' to shift the war's momentum in Ukraine's favor.
