The UK and Germany are spearheading a new international push to rapidly increase military aid to Ukraine, launching a '50-day drive' to supply Kyiv with air defense systems, ammunition, and advanced weaponry.
This initiative comes in response to former US President Donald Trump's ultimatum giving Russia 50 days to end the war or face tougher sanctions and increased Western support for Ukraine. Over 50 countries participated in the latest Ramstein-format meeting, where the UK pledged £700 million in military aid and, together with Germany, announced the delivery of 220,000 Gepard shells and new air defense systems. The campaign aims to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin into negotiations by strengthening Ukraine's defensive capabilities.
NATO and European leaders emphasize that this is a critical moment to unify support and maximize pressure on Russia.
