The World Health Organization (WHO) has strongly condemned Israeli military attacks on its staff residence and main warehouse in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.
WHO reports that Israeli forces raided and damaged its facilities, detained and interrogated staff, and forced women and children to evacuate under dangerous conditions. These attacks have severely compromised WHO's ability to provide humanitarian aid, as Gaza faces escalating civilian casualties, widespread displacement, and a worsening hunger crisis. The Israeli military confirmed entering the WHO compound, citing security concerns, but denied mistreatment of staff.
The international community and UN agencies are calling for an immediate ceasefire and protection of humanitarian workers as the situation in Gaza deteriorates.
