Sudan has filed a case against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing it of complicity in genocide.
The Sudanese government claims the UAE has been arming and funding the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which is accused of committing atrocities in the country's civil war. The case argues that the UAE's support has enabled the RSF to carry out genocidal actions, particularly against the Masalit community in West Darfur. The UAE has not yet responded to the allegations.
This legal action could escalate tensions between the two nations and draw international scrutiny to the conflict in Sudan.
