Under the Universal Decleration of Human Rights Article 17.2 and Article 25.1, housing/ shelter is a basic fundamental human right.

 @9YN9HDFdisagreed…5mos5MO

It keeps people off the streets and safe in a shelter where they can get the help they need and the streets look more aesthetically pleasing.

 @9X47BZYdisagreed…5mos5MO

homeless shelters help keep people out fo the cold and off the streets which in turn help the aesthetic look of places and if they use drugs to help them stop

 @9YHX28Tanswered…5mos5MO

no, but focus these funds on the root causes of homelessness and work to abolish these

 @9ZJ4RLCSocial Democratsanswered…5mos5MO

Yes, but don’t let this money take away from providing better housing all in all, shelters are not an end solution

 @9ZH47J4answered…5mos5MO

Yes, both invest in specific facilities for families, and separate facilities/rehabilitation centres for those who might suffer from addiction (drugs, alcohol, gambling)

 @9ZCWMGKanswered…5mos5MO

The government should focus their full attention and funding on fixing the housing crisis

 @9ZCLRZWSinn Féin  from Maine  answered…5mos5MO

At this stage people are also going homeless cause rent is so high, landlords are selling and people have no choice but to go to a hotel or shelters so dunno what to answer.

 @9ZCMV9Tanswered…5mos5MO

Only for Irish citizens with issues with a pathway for them to improve and reintegrate with society and they have to do community work as compensation

 @9ZCMB3Vanswered…5mos5MO

No they should invest in housing and figure out a way to reduce the cost of living while also increasing addiction support

 @9ZCGMJ5answered…5mos5MO

 @9ZCGD4Sanswered…5mos5MO

 @9ZC5GZ7answered…5mos5MO

Yes, more facilities and more individual facilities (men, women, youth, drug,illness)

 @9ZBRFXYanswered…5mos5MO

Yes but only in cases of making them more safe, people are scared to sleep there in the fear of being robbed or raped

 @9ZBR5JRanswered…5mos5MO

The government should increase funding for housing so there are less homeless people

 @9ZBKYXVanswered…5mos5MO

 @9ZBFWBNSinn Féinanswered…5mos5MO

 @9ZBB9F4answered…5mos5MO

There are thousands of vacant homes that can be used to house both the homeless and asylum seekers

 @9Z9FXJPanswered…5mos5MO

There should be greater initiatives to allow homeless citizens to open a bank account and to allow them the ability to enter the workforce offering them the opportunity to afford more permanent accommodation.

 @9Z98ZYJanswered…5mos5MO

Money should go into making housing to solve the problem instead of keeping these people reliant on services that keep them in the same situation

 @9YN4TG3answered…5mos5MO

Increase funding to house the homeless rather than simply keep them unhoused and provide services

 @9YMHT6Kanswered…5mos5MO

More of a focus should be placed on preventing people becoming homeless in the first place

 @9YMFF8Manswered…5mos5MO

No, because the shelters don’t do enough. Offer more workshops and opportunities for them to resolve their situation and grow life skills so they can prosper

 @9YLWWGYanswered…5mos5MO

Yes, but focus on housing crisis for everyone including older people, disabled people, and family's

 @9YLMB6Vanswered…5mos5MO

Government should increase spending on social housing so homeless shelters and services are not required. There shouldn't be anyone homeless in this country. End of.

 @9XRVKFManswered…5mos5MO

The focus should be on eradicating homelessness, while prioritising the Irish.

 @9XMLDKXanswered…5mos5MO

Decrease the quantity of ngo’s involved in homelessness or unite them, then increase if it’s efficient to do so.

 @9WYZGRSanswered…5mos5MO

 @9V75MZDFine Gaelanswered…6mos6MO

government has to find away to fix the problem rather than delayling the problem AND TAKE ACTION

 @9NNW6TCanswered…10mos10MO

While I agree, it shouldnt need funding as there should be social housing available

 @9NHJYPFanswered…10mos10MO

Yes, the government should provide free modular housing pods that are easy to install or easy to with little help with modern necessities and enroll users in a jobseeking, rent to buy programs on the small allotments these tiny homes would sit on.

 @9MQZN53answered…10mos10MO

Yes, but the focus should be on providing housing for un-housed people that is free at point of entry

 @9ZVTW4Qanswered…4mos4MO

Money should be well spend, current spending on immigration centers would be better put to use to tackle the family homeless.

 @9ZV2KYFSocial Democratsanswered…4mos4MO

There is a homelessness epidemic and housing crisis in this country. It is immensely disheartening to see my government officials, who are paid to serve the people of Ireland, instead serve their own self interest by prioritising the wealthy 1 %

 @9ZPFJPTAontúanswered…4mos4MO

Yes and No. They need to sort out housing and the immigration system before throwing money at the problem

 @9ZL62W5Social Democratsanswered…5mos5MO

Homeless charities should be merged, there are too many and money wasted on admin and inefficiencies

 @9ZKSZGFPBB Solidarityanswered…5mos5MO

Everyone should have their own front door and a safe place to live where they don't have to interact with other people if they don't want to. No one should be forced to choose between a hostel and the street.

 @9ZKQ2JJIndependentanswered…5mos5MO

They should increase social and regular housing to tackle homelessness rather than find temporary solutions

 @9ZK88YPanswered…5mos5MO

They should reanalyse how they’re locating their funds, emphasising creating shelters for women and children separate from couples and single men

 @9ZK3TL8Social Democratsanswered…5mos5MO

Yes but the priority should be on making housing affordable and tackling the root causes of homelessness

 @9ZJWFDDIndependentanswered…5mos5MO

they should prioritise making homes available to >everyone< instead of giving out crumbs in the form of shelters etc.

 @9ZJPPZ5Social Democratsanswered…5mos5MO

Only if fund management is analyzed and managed properly, lots of funding goes to it but very little to show

 @9ZCYSBGanswered…5mos5MO

Funding of jobs and services to promote homeless to have a wage and safe living wuarters until able to move out. Not necessarily shelters
