How do you personally define the beginning of life, and why is this important when considering the rights of an unborn child?

I would consider the beginning of life as when the child is born as any definition before that restricts the parent's ability to make a decision based on the best interests of her health. if there is a threat in the mother's life we should consider the beginning of life to be birth however if the abortion is carried out by choice I would say 12-16 weeks.
