Yes. It has evolved over time for me. I no longer believe family is based on a martial status. Family is who you spend time with and who you would stand up for. I would not say that family is based on marriage.

My family is my family, everyone who is related and some people who are not, but that does not mean I have responsibility for the welfare of my whole family, just my immediate family. I will always help where I can but the help will never come at the cost of niglect to my immediate family. Parents, brothers, sisters, partner, children and eventually grandchildren are my immediate family.
