Family is not given but chosen. Family is whoever is there for you when you need them and you are there for them when they need you.

Family is family, shared by blood or in some cases, adopted children become your family too.

Yes. It has evolved over time for me. I no longer believe family is based on a martial status. Family is who you spend time with and who you would stand up for. I would not say that family is based on marriage.

The definition of family is defiently in need of expansion from the Constitutional definition.

My family is my family, everyone who is related and some people who are not, but that does not mean I have responsibility for the welfare of my whole family, just my immediate family. I will always help where I can but the help will never come at the cost of niglect to my immediate family. Parents, brothers, sisters, partner, children and eventually grandchildren are my immediate family.
