Not until there are more charging stations and better batterys and more sustainable powered vehicles

 @9ZV5N3Manswered…8mos8MO

Yes but only if they can show that they are replacing a car or buying first time to prevent people buying an extra car just for the tax subsidy

 @9ZTFTGGanswered…8mos8MO

Yes, but the government should also provide subsidies that allow current petrol/diesel car owners to affordably transition to an electric/climate friendly vehicle

 @9ZL4JQHIndependentanswered…8mos8MO

Yes, so long as the EVs are safe and long lasting, with efforts being made to replace the fossil fuels being used to charge them with green alternatives.

 @9ZHHCQQSocial Democratsanswered…8mos8MO

I think more charging facilities and education re same need to be implemented before there’s an additional charge/saving

 @9ZH95KBanswered…8mos8MO

I understand that electric cars are better for the environment but overall they are still harming so I don't think there should be subsidies. I think we should put that money into things like better public transport and more pedestrian or bus only roads and streets to reduce the number of cars on the road and encourage carpooling.

 @9ZFQSDGanswered…8mos8MO

Public transport - proper public transport, is the key - not cars (electric or fuel)

 @9ZFFJP4answered…8mos8MO

there should be a lowered tax rate so that it is more affordable to own electric cars to better the environment.

 @9ZDJ3XWanswered…8mos8MO

Legislation should be passed to allow the use of hydrogen cars to be manufactured and sold in ireland

 @9ZCTZV6answered…8mos8MO

No, electrical cars are still bad for the enviornemnt and are ethically bad as they use rare metals for their batteries from countries like the Congo. The money should instead be invested in inventing ethically and environmentally freindly cars.

 @9ZB7NX6answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but this should be secondary to incentivising public transport, and should be more focused on encouraging current drivers to switch to electric vehicles as opposed to increasing car ownership

 @9YML6KK answered…8mos8MO

No, as the production of lithium batteries for these cars do as much if not more damage to the environment as petrol or diesel cars so encouraging people to buy one over the other is pointless if not more damaging

 @9YHZVG7Sinn Féinanswered…8mos8MO

Yes, to those who are below a certain wage point. There is no point in subsidizing those who can already afford it while the cars remain out of reach of the average driver.

 @9GWBW5CFine Gaelanswered…2yrs2Y

Jus don't ban fossil fuels vehicle till electric cars become more affordable than currently

 @9GNW32Lanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, providing a small amount may encourage other people to buy electric vehicles

 @9ZRGWCFanswered…8mos8MO

I think before helping people with Electric vehicle purchase by subsidies taxes, invest in the Cycling lane safety and extension of cycle lane should be the first step. You don't go anywhere with a beautiful Electric Bike if there is no safety and road. To build a house you need to start from the ground.

 @9ZR5NLDanswered…8mos8MO

I do not believe the country or even the world is ready to hyper focus on the use of EVs until we are more confident in the technology and ensuring we can future proof the use of batteries and microchips being used

 @9ZNBCPNGreenanswered…8mos8MO

No, but public charging should be made more widely available to reduce range anxiety rather than require bigger batteries.

 @9ZMM8LLSinn Féinanswered…8mos8MO

Yes, and subsidies should be increased and proportional to your income. VRT on zero emissions vehicles and low emissions vehicles should also be abolished.

 @9NL327Nanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but there needs to be significantly more investment in public transport

 @9MM9RGWanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but with regulation on an analysis of average sales prices over the last 5 years in order to combat price gouging/price hikes compensating for the subsidy.

 @9MBLRCNanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, as long as they also provide infrastructures and these vehicles only consume clean energy sources

 @9L3WNJ2Labouranswered…1yr1Y

No just because you have an expensive electric car doesn't mean you're better than everyone else
