In April 2021 the legislature of the U.S. State of Arkansas introduced a bill that prohibited doctors from providing gender-transition treatments to people under 18 years old. The bill would make it a felony for doctors to administer puberty blockers, hormones and gender-reaffirming surgery to anyone under the age of 18. Opponents of the bill argue that it is an assault on transgender rights and that transition treatments are a private matter that should be decided between parents, their children and doctors. Supporters of the bill argue that children are too young to make the decision to receive gender transition treatment and only adults over the age of 18 should be allowed to do so.

No

Too many people are making the decision as a means of identifying with an ideology in the hope it sets them apart from the herd.

Gender disphoria is a real issue and all people should be treated with love and respect but it is doing young people a disservice to promote transgenderism. The chronically depressed exist but I don't believe we should have assisted suicide.

No, children should not be allowed to make irreversible life decisions
@9FLJ4BF8mos8MO
I believe that any type of changing your body permanently could really impact one's future and they could regret it for the rest of their life so it is best if they made the decision as adults when their bodies stop developing and they are able to actually rethink their choice and be sure with it
@ISIDEWITH3yrs3Y
Yes, but only for non-surgical treatments such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy
@9JG9B4C4mos4MO
Children cannot consent to life changing non essential hormone alteration and it is chemically unhealthy for them and adults

If an adult with mental issues wants to go under Gender Transition that's their business but children under 18 should not be put on any blockers etc as we don't know what the long term effects are. The whole transgender thing has become a hot topic which is going to have negative consequences on society. If we let everyone who was depressed kill themselves we wouldn't be having this conversation.
The gender identity issue is a mental health issue that needs to be addressed. I also think it's linked with autism.

No, and ban all gender transitioning treatments
@9MB6N242wks2W
Contradicts expert advice from medical professionals, goes against people's own right to self-dtermination, puts the government in the room with you and your doctor, is a viewpoint based on bias and intolerance
A government cannot determine others gender identity and it is definitely not important compared to other problems
