This is heartbreaking and should never happen—churches and civilians must be protected, especially in places so central to our faith. As a Christian Democrat, I believe peace and respect for human dignity should guide every nation’s actions, no matter the circumstances. We need an immediate ceasefire and real efforts for dialogue, not just apologies after innocent lives are lost.
