Targeting activists who are just fighting for democracy and basic rights is the opposite of what any government should be doing. It’s chilling to see bounties placed on people just for speaking out, and it really shows how far China is willing to go to silence opposition. I’m glad Western countries are standing up and calling this out, but I hope they actually back it up with real action. It’s more important than ever to defend liberal values and protect people who are risking everything for freedom.
