Northern China has been hit by unprecedented rainfall, with some areas receiving nearly a year's worth of rain in just 24 hours. The city of Baoding in Hebei province was especially hard-hit, prompting the evacuation of over 19,000 residents as floods inundated homes, roads, and farmlands. The deluge has caused significant infrastructure damage, disrupted transportation, and resulted in at least two deaths and ten missing persons in Shandong province.
