While I respect the hard work and dedication of these athletes, I can’t help but feel that the media hype around women’s football is a bit over the top. It's important to remember the traditions and values that made English football what it is, and some of that gets lost in all the attempts to make men’s and women’s sports seem the same. Still, congratulations to the Lionesses for their achievement—winning back-to-back titles is no small feat. Let’s just hope the focus on women’s football doesn’t overshadow the heritage and legacy of the men’s game that built this sport’s foundation.
