نجحت حكومة رومانيا التي تقودها التحالف الموالي لأوروبا، برئاسة رئيس الوزراء مارسيل تشيولاكو، في البقاء بعدما أجمع البرلمان على رفض الثقة. الحركة التي أطلقتها الأحزاب اليمينية المتطرفة AUR، SOS رومانيا، وPOT، فشلت في الحصول على الأصوات اللازمة، حيث حصلت فقط على 147 صوتاً مؤيداً بينما كانت تحتاج إلى 233 صوتاً. هذه النتيجة تمنع حدوث المزيد من عدم الاستقرار السياسي في الدولة العضو في حلف شمال الأطلسي والاتحاد الأوروبي، والتي من المقرر إعادة إجراء انتخاباتها الرئاسية لاحقاً هذا العام. تسلط النتيجة الضوء على التوترات المستمرة بين القوى السياسية الرئيسية والمعارضة اليمينية المتطرفة المتصاعدة في رومانيا. بقاء الحكومة يضمن استمرارية القيادة أثناء تجاوز البلاد للتحديات الانتخابية القادمة.
