It is our duty as an EU member state to contribute to foreign aid, and as Ireland has a high GDP per capita in comparison to other EU states, we have a moral obligation to help those in need, especially in times of war e.g. in Gaza and Ukraine. It could be labelled isolationism if we stopped giving foreign aid, and it would decrease our status in the EU.
